About Jon

Since joining Parker Hudson in 1986, Jon has practiced almost exclusively in the area of health care with an emphasis on health care regulatory litigation. Most of his practice has involved the representation of hospitals and physicians. These matters typically have involved: commercial health care-related litigation for hospitals, physicians, and other providers in state and federal courts in various southeastern states; Medicare Part A reimbursement disputes before the Provider Reimbursement Review Board and the federal courts; Medicare Part B reimbursement disputes; Medicaid reimbursement disputes before administrative law judges; arbitration of health care disputes before the American Arbitration Association; hospital rate setting litigation before the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings and the Florida Health Care Board (“HCB”); and certificate of need litigation (including rule challenge proceedings) before the Georgia Department of Community Health, Division of Health Planning, the Georgia state trial and appellate courts, the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings, and the Florida state trial and appellate courts.

Jon has also represented hospitals in a variety of regulatory matters, including Medicare and Medicaid decertification actions and JCAHO accreditation disputes. In addition, Jon has provided advice to health care clients on legal issues such as Medicare/Medicaid fraud and abuse, corporate compliance, tax exemption, and other issues arising from affiliation strategies among hospitals, physicians, and other health care providers.
