Diversity Participation
Achieving the firm’s goals requires that everyone at the firm be a part of this effort — from the managing partner and diversity partner to the associates and staff. To that end, Parker, Hudson is involved in programs and organizations that aid diversity in the legal profession as well as diversity within our walls.
Parker, Hudson is a member of the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program whose mission is “to increase opportunities for ethnic minority attorneys in the assignment of corporate and governmental legal work.” The firm was a sponsor for the 2008 Gate City Bar Hall of Fame Gala and has sent attorneys to the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys annual conferences.
In order to increase the diversity within the firm, we regularly seek out diverse candidates for our summer clerkship program and for lateral recruitment. In addition, Parker, Hudson participates in the Southeastern Minority Job Fair and the Atlanta Bar’s Minority Clerkship Program.
Just as the firm looks for opportunities to participate in various diversity efforts, we also encourage our lawyers to participate in and lead diverse Bar-related organizations. As a result, Parker, Hudson lawyers are members and/or leaders in organizations such as the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Gate City Bar Association, the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association, the Women’s Finance Exchange, and others.
