Overview
Laura Phillips advises financial institutions, fintech companies, and other clients on complex finance transactions, consumer credit products, and the legal and regulatory issues arising in data-driven financial services. Her practice focuses on commercial transactions and credit arrangements, with particular emphasis on compliance with federal and state consumer finance laws. Laura approaches client service with a practical, business-oriented mindset, helping clients navigate regulatory requirements while supporting product innovation and commercial objectives.
Laura brings significant in-house and law firm experience to her practice, having served in senior legal roles at leading financial services and data analytics companies. She represents lenders and borrowers in secured and unsecured commercial finance transactions, including syndicated credit facilities and other complex financing arrangements across a range of industries.
Laura regularly advises on loan purchase agreements, vendor and technology contracts, and other commercial agreements supporting consumer and commercial lending platforms. She counsels clients on compliance with laws including the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, assists with the structuring and launch of new financial products, and helps develop policies and procedures to support compliant servicing and operational functions.
