John Chapman represents major corporations, financial institutions, and technology companies in complex commercial litigation and regulatory matters. His practice focuses on high-stakes disputes involving antitrust, securities, and commercial litigation, as well as white-collar defense and regulatory compliance issues. John works closely with clients to develop practical strategies that protect their business interests and address their most significant legal challenges. 

John has experience advising clients through all stages of complex disputes and government investigations. He has engaged in high-stakes negotiations with opposing counsel, prepared witnesses for depositions and testimony at arbitration as well as trial.

In his spare time, John volunteers as an assistant coach for the Morehouse College moot court team.

  • IKB Intl. S.A. v Morgan Stanley (N.Y. App. Div. 2024). Represented multi-national bank in appellate proceedings seeking to affirm dismissal of plaintiff’s fraud claims in connection with the sale of residential mortgage-backed securities between 2005 and 2007.*
  • IKB Int’l S.A. in Liquidation v. Morgan Stanley, Index No. 653964/2012,(N.Y. Sup. Ct.). Achieved dismissal of claims sounding in fraud in connection the sale of residential mortgage-backed securities between 2005 and 2007.*
  • ANSARY v. CENTRAL BANK OF CURACAO AND SINT MAARTEN. Obtained a victory for the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten, in an action alleging improper expropriation in violation of international law and treaties.*
