Diversity and Inclusion Participation

Achieving the firm’s diversity and inclusion goals requires that everyone at the firm be a part of this effort — from the managing partner and diversity and inclusion partner to the associates and staff. To that end, Parker, Hudson is involved in programs and organizations that aid diversity in the legal profession as well as diversity within our walls.

Parker, Hudson is a member of the Steering Committee for the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program whose mission is “to promote inclusion of all members of the State Bar of Georgia regardless of race, nationality, sex, religion or sexual orientation.” In connection with that membership, a number of attorneys at the firm have volunteered to help with the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program's high school pipeline program and the firm has provided other direct support of the pipeline program and other initiatives of the Steering Committee. In addition, the firm has sent attorneys to the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys annual conferences and our Managing Partner is one of the co-chairs of the Atlanta Bar's Minority and Diversity Clerkship Program.

In order to increase diversity within the firm, we regularly seek out diverse candidates for our summer clerkship program and for lateral recruitment. In addition, Parker, Hudson participates in the Southeastern Minority Job Fair and the Atlanta Bar’s Minority and Diversity Clerkship Program. We have also hosted a diversity open house for law students and we continue to seek out opportunities to participate in law school affinity group programs.

To maintain diversity, and promote a culture of inclusiveness within the firm, we conduct periodic diversity and inclusion training and we have established a women's affinity group that meets periodically. In addition, we regularly report on our diversity and inclusion efforts to the attorneys and staff at the firm.

Just as the firm looks for opportunities to participate in various diversity efforts, we also encourage our lawyers to participate in and lead diverse Bar-related organizations. As a result, Parker, Hudson lawyers are members and/or leaders in organizations such as the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association, the Women’s Finance Exchange, the South Asian Bar Association of Georgia, and others.
