A growing client for the firm provides national dialysis services for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure, which is known as End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). As of December 2007, the client operated or provided administrative services to approximately 1,360 out–patient dialysis centers located in 43 states and the District of Columbia, serving approximately 107,000 patients.

Parker Hudson serves as one of three primary law firms supporting the client division that focuses on the acquisition and development of new dialysis centers. Since the inception of the firm's representation, the firm has closed approximately twenty dialysis center purchase transactions and six joint venture transactions.

In addition to the acquisition/joint venture work, Parker Hudson has also been called upon to assist in real estate matters as well as State of Georgia Medicaid reimbursement matters. On the transaction side, the work has been handled primarily by Paul Hudson and Kasel Knight. Jennifer Crane and David Cleveland have also handled acquisition and joint venture matters. David Ansari and Peter Busscher have assisted on various real estate matters, and Leo Reichert and Jon Rue continue to handle Medicaid reimbursement matters. Marbury Rainer has also provided litigation counseling.

9/30/2010 - Jay Rankin will be teaching a class on intercreditor issues, use of cash collateral and post-petition financing in bankruptcy at Emory University School of Law on September 23, September 30 and October 21, 2010.

10/18/2010 - Eric Taylor will be speaking at the 5th Annual Advanced Forum on Residential Mortgage Litigation & Regulatory enforcement in Dallas for the American Conference Institute on October 18 and 19, 2010. Eric is giving two speeches: "Regulatory and Legislative Responses to the Turmoil in the Residential Mortgage Industry"; and "Master Class on Insurance Coverage and Litigation Issues in Subprime Mortgage Litigation."

12/7/2010 - Ed Dobbs will participate in the Atlanta Bar Association's annual Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Year in Review at the Capital City Club.

1/26/2011 - Eric Taylor will be conducting a two hour breakout session on the topic "The Current MDL Practice Landscape - What Is and Isn’t Working for Defendants?" at the 10th Annual Conference on Consumer Finance Class Actions & Litigation on January 26, 2011 in New York City.

During the conference, Eric is also a panelist, and will be discussing the topic "Managing the Current and Future Waves of Discriminatory and Predatory Lending/Servicing Cases" on January 27, 2011.
