Parker Hudson scored a major victory recently in New York State Court in the ongoing fire fighter hearing loss litigation on behalf of a client. Fire fighters from all over the country have sued our client, who is the leading manufacturer of emergency vehicle sirens and lights, alleging that they suffered permanent hearing loss from long–term exposure to loud siren noise. Parker Hudson is the national coordinating counsel for this litigation. In the New York case, in a highly unusual result, the State Court judge granted our motion to dismiss and dismissed the case without even allowing the plaintiffs to take discovery. This decision is important because of the number of potential New York fire fighter plaintiffs, and because it will be helpful precedent in other cases. The Parker Hudson team was led by Ron Coleman and included David Darden, Keith Blackwell, Rebecca Bower, Melissa Burton, and Sarah Blackwell.
